Introduction

DOGTV also announced the launch of DOGTV Anywhere.

Whether your poodle is traveling to Paris, or your retriever is lounging in the back seat of the car, DOGTV Anywhere brings 24-hour multi-platform apps to iOS and Android devices for on-the-go entertainment.

DOGTV Content

DOGTV was developed by world-leading pet and TV experts. The content was created following more than three years of research on dog vision, hearing, and behavior.

Dogs can experience stress not only when left home alone but also while traveling with you in a car or an aircraft. Having the DOGTV Anywhere app on your smartphone or tablet can help the animal cope.

The programming was divided into three categories: relaxation, stimulation, and exposure. The combination of these provide just the right balance to ease boredom and reduce stress levels.

The PM at LATTO requested that I design the DOGTV Anywhere mobile app based on the existing Smart TV applications. My goal was to create a seamless and engaging mobile experience while ensuring design consistency across platforms.

35 Ann lives with her boyfriend and her beloved Golden Retriever - Barley. Ann and her boyfriend work 9 hours a day. During their absence, the dog watches DOGTV.

On weekends, the couple likes to travel together, but Barley dislikes the car and is stressed during the way.

It would be beneficial to have DOGTV in the car for Barley to manage the stress.

The next step of my work is the sketching process, which plays a crucial role in shaping the design. Below is a sketch of the application workflow, where I map out the core steps the user will take while interacting with the app. This step allows me to visualize the flow of the application from start to finish, considering every action a user will perform.

Before Ann can start using the app, she needs to register and subscribe. She will receive a 14-day free trial, giving her the opportunity to explore the features. If she doesn't cancel the subscription before the end of the trial, her account will automatically be charged a monthly subscription fee.

VOD (Video On Demand) Tab

This is where Ann can select short videos based on categories or her dog’s mood. This provides her with a tailored experience to keep Barley entertained and relaxed.

LIVE Feed Channel Tab

This tab features a live feed that Ann can use to watch real-time content for Barley. It's perfect for keeping Barley engaged with live programming.

Menu Tab

The third and most recent addition to the app is the menu tab. Here, Ann can edit her profile, view her billing history, contact customer support, or cancel her subscription if needed. This ensures she has full control over her account and preferences.

Color Palette Update for DOGTV

To enhance the visual appeal of DOGTV, I created a new color palette that emphasizes the importance of digital colors. I updated the primary orange to a bright, light orange to give it a fresher, more vibrant look. Additionally, I replaced the brown with dark gray, as it pairs well with various colors, providing flexibility and balance.

To add more energy and life to the application, I introduced a blue digital color. This choice works harmoniously with the light orange, creating a vibrant yet cohesive color scheme that enhances the user experience.

The final screens showcase the updated look and feel of the app, emphasizing a more vibrant and engaging experience. The new sign-up flow has been redesigned with a fresh, intuitive layout that makes it easy for users to get started with the app. The registration process is now more visually appealing, featuring the updated color palette, including the light orange, dark gray, and blue digital colors, creating a dynamic and modern interface.

Both the Android and iOS versions of the app maintain consistency across platforms, ensuring a seamless experience for users regardless of their device. The colorful interface enhances the overall user experience, making the app more enjoyable and engaging for DOGTV users like Ann and her dog Barley.
